There are some online and academic resources for which you may want to negotiate purchase or access that will help orient you to cancer care practice. Many academic centers will have these available to you. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), a not-for-profit alliance of 21 of the world’s leading cancer centers, is dedicated to improving the quality and effectiveness of care provided to patients with cancer

National Cancer Institute coordinates the National Cancer Program, which conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and the families of cancer patients.


NCI’s Comprehensive Cancer Database offers information about specific cancer sites, prevention and treatment, coping with cancer, side effects of treatment and survivorship.  There is also information about clinical trials.


The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1964, with overarching goals of improving cancer care and prevention and ensuring that all patients with cancer receive care of the highest quality. ASCO has information on cancer specific sites, information on current cancer research, standards of care, as well as generic treatment summary forms, Survivorship information, Patient education information and recommendations for Chemotherapy consent forms.


The Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) is dedicated to research and education in all aspects of supportive care for patients with cancer, regardless of the stage of their disease.
